First of all, let me thank our donors who made this new site possible. We won't name you as the ugly fur trade may take against you but you know who you are and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We aim to make this new site an authoritative source of information regarding the fur trade, a resource for anti-fur campaigners globally and, importantly, as a way of raising much needed funds.

We make no apology about the need to raise money. The fur trade has lots of it. In fact its annual income is more than $10 billion and, each year, the International Fur Trade Federation and the European Fur Breeders Association receive millions of pounds (£) to spend on Public Relations and lobbying. Just look at their shiny websites to see what we mean (http://www.iftf.com/ and http://www.efba.eu/) - full of propaganda and distortion.

Of course, all of the fur trades money, for their websites, for their expensive PR and lobbying companies comes from the animals they treat so cruelly and kill. It is blood money and shame on those who take it whether it's the Public Relations or Lobbying Companies, the students who accept help with their fashion courses, the air-head fashion models who wear fur or the papers and magazines that take fur trade advertising.

They all have the blood of the animals killed for their fur on their hands.

With our new website we aim to step up the anti-fur campaign and to reach out to the hundreds of millions of people on Facebook, on Twitter and to the majority of people who believe it is wrong to kill animals for their fur.

With the launch of this new site we are also releasing the results of a brand new opinion poll that shows the majority of people in the UK actually want the sale of fur here made illegal - see Facts and Reports/Opinion polls for details.

So, this is the bit we are asking for your help - we urgently need it if we are to take on and defeat such an unscrupulous, multi-national industry as the fur trade but, together, we know we can succeed.

Firstly, please spread the word - send a link to this new site www.respectforanimals.org to all of your Facebook contacts and e-mail lists. Tweet about the new site with a link and add links to our site wherever you can.

Secondly, please consider making a donation to our work - we have made it really easy (and secure) and we rely entirely on financial contributions from supporters to enable us to campaign. We have no other source of money so PLEASE help us to help the animals today make a donation here.

Fighting the Fur Trade

Following on from our hard hitting campaigns involving celebrities and fashion designers there are now fewer than 20 fur outlets listed in London.  Fur farming is also banned throughout the United Kingdom.
