On 30 December 2009 the winners of the DAF 2009 interntational animation competition were announced. The competition is organised in the UK by Respect for Animals and is run globally by the Fur Free Alliance.
The winners are:
1st Place: Liu Xiaofu, China
2nd Place: Casper Christensen, Denmark
3rd Place: Daniel Clark, UK

Undercover footage taken on fur farms in Denmark was screened on Danish television last night (27 October). The film shows mink and fox kept in appalling conditions, animals with untreated injuries and animals showing stereotypic behaviour.

Thanks to the Green Party, the new agreed Programme for Government in Ireland is to include a phase out of fur farming over the next 3 years.
