Tonight the winners of the 2009 Design Against Fur UK & Ireland student poster design competition will be gathered at dreamspace gallery, London for a reception hosted by Respect for Animals.
The winning artworks are all showcased in an exhibition, open until 30th September, at the dreamspace gallery, 1-3 Dufferin Street, London EC1. A selection of images can be seen in the Design Against Fur section of this website.

The quota for this year’s hunt off the east coast of Canada had been set at 338,000 but has now closed and official figures show that 70,000 seals were in fact killed. Fishermen in Newfoundland and Labrador, eastern Canada, took some 70,000 seals. The fishermen taking part in the hunt blame a drastic fall in pelt prices brought about by the (then) impending European Union ban on seal products which was passed on 5 May and is expected to come into effect in October.
