Earlier today, the Council of Europe meeting in San Marino passed a recommendation concerning seal hunting which included calls to end all cruel hunting methods (such as the hakapik) and that members and observers should ‘promote initiatives aimed at prohibiting the import and marketing of seal-derived products.’

The Fur Free Retailers initiative, launched in the UK on Thursday 28 September 2006, enables consumers to shop with confidence, safe in the knowledge that the retailer has committed not to use or sell any real fur, so shoppers can be confident that neither they, nor their chosen retailer, are contributing to the suffering of over 50 million animals, killed every year in the name of fashion.
