The Design Against fur competition was launched in UK and Ireland schools and colleges at the end of 2002.
The judges were led by actress and fasion designer Sadie Frost and the winners were:
First place: Christopher Ribet of Bedford College
Second place: Barry Pickford of Reading College
3rd place: Daniel Howton of Bedford Colelge
The winners received their prizes from long time Respect for Animals’ support Tony Banks MP at a champagne reception in London on 3rd June.
The winners of this round of the competition went forward to the Grand Prize Competition which was eventually won by Nicholas Poitou from Belgium but Daniel Howton won the special Marchig Award. Both he and Christopher attended the glittering awards ceremony in Paris where the presentations were made by Princess Catherine Sadruddin Aga Khan.
