The Design Against Fur 2007 competition was judged in London on 6 June.
The winners of the UK & Ireland round of the poster competition are:
1st: Sarah-Leigh Wills of University College Falmouth
2nd : Hannah Myers of Swindon College
Joint 3rd: Oli Saunders of University of Northampton
and
Yinan (Kiki) Song of Central St Martins College of Art & Design
Specially commended were:
Joanna Yoong of UCE
Nicola Parker of Nottingham Trent University
James Walsh of Nottingham Trent University
Martyn Hellewell of Dewsbury College
Michael Simpson of New College Durham.
The judges were graphic designers Harry Barlow and Lee Ellis, Shelly Vella Fasion Editor at Cosmopolitan magazine, Rhiannon James Graduating Creatives Manager of D&AD Talentpool and writer and former Marie Claire Editor Liz Jones.
The winners will be presented with their prizes on 16 October 2007 at an awards ceremony at Portcullis House, London SW1A.
The winner of the special Persula Foundation prize of a state of the art dvd player was Joanna Yoong of UCE who will also be presented with her prize at the London event.
Respect for Animals is very grateful to the Persula Foundation for their continued suport of the Design Against Fur competition.
Animation Competition
This year, for the first time, the competition was extended to include animation entries.
The winners were:
1st: Alex Pierly, Somerset College of Art & Technology (SCAT)
2nd: Steve Quantick & Ben Rex of SCAT
3rd: Leigh Criddle & Dan Sommers of SCAT
Judges Special Commendation: Seung Joo Chang of Nottingham Trent University

T-shirt Competition
Also, for the firs time, the competition included a round for t-shirt designs.
