The judging for the 2006 competition took place on 2 May 2006. The judge’s included Shelly Vella, Fashion Editor at Cosmopolitan magazine and Harry Barlow of advisor to the Mayor of London and head of Harry Barlow Limited, a company that specialises in issues-based campaign communications.

The winners were presented with their prizes at a reception at Portcullis House hosted by Nick Palmer MP on 1 November 2006.
The Grand Prize Winner of the Design Against fur 2006 competition was announced on 4 October. The winning design was by Italian student Maria Rhodes Castro of Spain who is studying at the Accademia di Comunicazione of Milan, Italy. She won 5000 US $ and tickets to attend Stella McCartney’s fashion show in Paris.
For the first time there was also a ‘People’s Choice’ Award which was voted on by visitors to the Fur Free Alliance website infurmation.com. The people chose the design by Yu-Tzu Chung, from the Pratt Institute, in New York City. Her prize was 1,000 US $. Both designs can be seen at http://www.infurmation.com
