The bill, introduced by U.S. Senators Robert Menendez and Norm Coleman, closes a loophole in the law that currently allows some animal fur garments to go unlabeled if the value of the fur is less than $150, leaving consumers in the dark as to whether they are buying fake or animal fur.
A similar bill in the U.S. House of Representatives, H.R. 891 introduced by Representatives Jim Moran and Mike Ferguson, currently has 175 co-sponsors.
Respect for Animals is calling on the UK Government to introduce a labelling order for all garments with fur trim, regardless of cost or the species of the animal involved.

Our key goals
Respect for Animals campaigns against the cruel and unnecessary international fur trade, believing fur farming and trapping to be morally indefensible.
