Respect for Animals Reveals the Full Horror of Fur Trapping

A new undercover investigation has brought to light evidence of extreme cruelty with a direct link to the fashion industry (17 Mar 2011).

Trappers were filmed in January 2011 using leghold traps and snares to catch wild animals in the USA for their fur. Animals are seen thrashing about in the traps in their efforts to escape. Many were killed by the trappers stamping or kneeling on their chests. Others were drowned and one particularly pitiful scene shows a racoon struggling as the trapper tries to drown it by holding it underwater with his foot. The trappers are also filmed skinning the animals and selling
their skins at auction.

All this suffering is to provide animal skins for the fur trade. It is the fur retailers, designers and models who promote fur that are guilty of causing this suffering and who have the blood of these animals on their hands. They should be utterly ashamed.
